'Self Reflection is greater than Self Projection'
Wednesday 28th March 2012
Renowned UK artist INSA has chosen to use Digimura fabric-backed wallcovering digitally printed by BAF Graphics, to stage his one-night installation, Self Reflection is greater than Self Projection.
Heavily influenced by graffiti, pop culture and fetishism, INSA has been producing his unique artwork for more than ten years and has worked with blue-chip brands including Sony and Nike on private commissions and projects. This latest exhibition drew on familiar themes in his portfolio, particularly society's twin obsessions with money and image.
The exhibition, at the Londonewcastle gallery space in London's hip Shoreditch area, featured 160 square metres of wall covered in Digimura 2.1 Smooth, printed with INSA's work by BAF Graphics. The innovative fabric-backed wallcovering was ideal for the installation not only for its exceptional colour reproduction and line definition – essential for INSA's saturated, hyper-real images.
The entire installation process was carried out by BAF Graphics and documented from start to finish, and included covering 60 square metres of floor in Aslan DFP47 smooth-surface vinyl and laminated with Aslan MP326 anti-slip laminate from Papergraphics, as well as the Digimura wallcovering.
Antony Baglioni, Business Development Director for BAF Graphics says, “this is an exciting project for BAF and a wonderful opportunity to be part of INSA’s latest installation, showcasing the endless creative opportunities of digitally printed graphics”
