We’re thrilled to announce we have been shortlisted for the ‘Eco Project/Product’ category at this year’s FX Awards.
Monday 26th September 2011
We entered the category with ‘Project Ocean’ which is aimed at raising awareness of marine conservation and is the result of a collaboration between Selfridges and some of the environmental organisations such as The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the Marine Conservation Society and Greenpeace. One of the methods of getting the message over was to create a vast window display in the London store. We were commissioned to produce an extensive range of graphics - including a preview and teaser campaign based on digitally printed window films featuring oceans of swimming fishes and forks, together with images of the sea - because of our knowledge and proactive approach.
To complete the installation we researched the best eco-friendly materials which matched excellent performance with sustainable features and decided to use the 100% recyclable Dufaylite, a lightweight rigid composite board bonded to a recycled paper honeycomb core sourced from sustainable forests and Forex Smart, a lightweight and strong rigid non PVC board substrates, which we printed directly onto using our latest large format digital print technology. We also produced the graphics for some interactive windows which integrated print with digital signage and created a “Whale Rodeo” area within the store, fitting out a wall made of MDF, covered with a digitally printed backdrop showing unusual “Whale Rodeo” themed graphics.
We’re looking forward to November 29th when the winners will be announced.
